Fendi handbags and wallets date back to 1918, when a woman by the name of Adele Casagrande started a fur and leather shop in Rome. The company didn't get its current name, however, until Casagrande married a man by the name of Edoardo Fendi in 1925. The Fendi handbags and other leather products were so successful in the original shop, the couple went on to open more stores. All of the Fendi wallets, handbags, purses and totes are still made of the finest leather today, but the fashion house has grown to encompass more than just accessories.
Couture fashions were added to the list of Fendi wallets, handbags, furs and other leather products in 1965, when German designer Karl Lagerfeld joined fashion family. It was Lagerfeld who created the famous "FF" logo that is seen on everything from Fendi wallets to sunglasses today, which has become a known as a status symbol. By 1966
Fendi had presented its first couture fur collection designed by Lagerfeld, which was an immediate success with foreign buyers. Marvin Traub of Bloomingdale's discovered the leather goods and introduced Fendi handbags and wallets to the United States. The products are now available throughout the United States in many finer department stores, and there are also discount Fendi purses and other products available online.
